Torfaen Tigers Dominate WRL Wheelchair Invitational League with Convincing Win Over Cardiff Blue Dragons
Torfaen Tigers continue to assert their dominance at the top of the WRL Wheelchair Invitational League after a commanding 48-10 victory against Cardiff Blue Dragons in Cwmbran on Sunday.
Demonstrating relentless control, the Tigers played the entire match with just five players, with Jamie Reynolds leading the charge by scoring three tries and multiple conversions.

Early tries from Reynolds and Scott Trigg-Turner set the tone, while Leighton Morris added a hat-trick, ensuring Torfaen’s stronghold throughout the game.
Despite Cardiff’s spirited efforts, including tries from Thomas James and Libbie Sargent, Torfaen’s swift responses and clinical finishing left no doubt. Jason Reynolds, father of Jamie, also made a notable contribution by setting up key plays.
The Tigers’ comprehensive performance solidifies their position as early leaders in the Welsh wheelchair rugby league scene.
Looking ahead, Torfaen Tigers will face the unbeaten North Wales Crusaders, who secured a 42-12 win over Swindon St George earlier the same day. The Crusaders’ victory featured a standout hat-trick from Martin Turner and a milestone 1,000 career points for Harry Jones.
Both teams enter their upcoming clash undefeated, promising a high-stakes encounter in the WRL Wheelchair Invitational League.
This weekend’s results highlight the growing competitiveness and skill level in Welsh wheelchair rugby league, with Torfaen Tigers and North Wales Crusaders emerging as the teams to watch this season.
