Salvage Hunter star Drew Pritchard has raised an alert about a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating him, aiming to deceive his followers. The antiques expert from Conwy spoke out to shield his fans from falling victim to these scams. Someone posing as Drew on social media has been soliciting money, prompting the TV personality to clarify that he has never requested funds and never will.
Taking to his official Facebook page, Drew emphasized, “Some you have been asking if I have received the money you sent me. PLEASE do not send money to anyone claiming to be me. I have not asked, and will not ask, anyone for money.” He continued, “It seems there is someone impersonating me and requesting money. Be warned, IT IS NOT ME.” Furthermore, he made it clear that he operates only one official page, asking fans to report any other pages or groups claiming to be him.
This incident comes amid a growing trend of fake celebrity accounts on social media, where scammers impersonate public figures to solicit money. The issue was recently spotlighted by BBC Morning Live after presenter Gethin Jones discovered a fake profile using his identity to promote cryptocurrency investments.
Beyond Salvage Hunters, Drew has also been featured in Georgian House Restoration, documenting his efforts to restore a Grade I-listed Georgian townhouse in Bath, Somerset. He is preparing to move from Conwy to this townhouse, having sold his local cottage to help finance the relocation and restoration project.
