A woman has lost her life in a multi-vehicle collision on the A548 near Gwespyr village in Flintshire. The crash took place on Thursday afternoon, prompting police to appeal for witnesses to come forward with any information. Emergency services responded swiftly, but sadly, the driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

North Wales Police’s roads policing unit confirmed the incident, stating, “At 4.26pm on Thursday, April 24, we received a report of a collision involving four vehicles on the A548 Mostyn Road, Flintshire near to the junction for Gwespyr Village.” They added that the deceased woman’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained family liaison officers. The force emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the ongoing investigation.

Sergeant Leigh McCann from the roads crime unit urged anyone with information to come forward, saying, “Sadly this incident is being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision and our thoughts are with the lady’s family at this very difficult time.” He called on witnesses, including those traveling or walking along Mostyn Road near Gwespyr Village, to share any dash camera footage or details. The road has since reopened, and authorities thanked the public for their patience during the closure.

Following the crash, the A548 in Tanlan, Ffynnongroyw, Holywell, was shut in both directions for several hours while accident investigators carried out their work.
