Soloists, instrumentalists, and groups are invited to apply for the 2025 Llangollen International Eisteddfod, set to bring music and dance from across the globe to North East Wales from July 8 to July 13. The annual festival, known for promoting peace through cultural exchange since 1947, is expanding its youth competitions in response to popular demand.

The 2025 program will include seven solo and 18 group competitions, alongside four non-competitive performance categories, offering a platform for both young and seasoned artists to showcase their talents. New for next year are youth versions of the esteemed Voice of the Future and Voice of Musical Theatre contests, intended to inspire young singers to participate on an international stage.

Artistic Director Dave Danford shared his excitement, noting, “Our festival attracts top-tier talent from every corner of the world. We’re thrilled to introduce new youth competitions and to see interest from countries like the USA, Zimbabwe, Philippines, and Ghana. We look forward to creating an even more vibrant and diverse celebration of culture.”

Last year’s competitions saw exceptional winners, including Shimona Rose from Singapore, crowned the 2024 Pendine International Voice of the Future, and Shea Ferron, whose local choir, Johns’ Boys Male Chorus, previously won Choir of the World. As group applications pour in, the festival promises to make Llangollen a premier destination for global musical talent once again.
