Swindon police responded swiftly on the evening of Thursday, April 17, after a silver Mercedes was involved in a crash near the main entrance of Great Western Hospital. The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage after colliding within the hospital’s car park.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing what appeared to be a police pursuit through the hospital car park, with the Mercedes speeding in an attempt to evade law enforcement. The car was seen crashing through a bollard before continuing into a hedge and finally striking a signpost.
Police officers at the scene declined to comment on the circumstances leading to the crash or whether any arrests had been made. A barrier was set up to redirect traffic away from the incident area, though hospital access and parking remained largely unaffected.
Wiltshire Police have been contacted for further information regarding the incident.
