A motorcyclist made an ill-timed decision to perform a wheelie right in front of an unmarked police car. The rider was already under a section 59 warning before attempting the stunt on a road in the Shotton area of North Flintshire. Such warnings are issued when a vehicle is used in a manner that causes alarm, distress, or annoyance to others.

Because this was his second offence, the police confiscated his bike. As officers were leaving the scene, they spotted another rider on an off-road bike riding on the pavement, according to North Wales Live. The North Flintshire policing team remarked, “I would probably say, the worst time to pull a wheelie is……in front of an unmarked police car, when you already have a section 59 warning.”

The police confirmed the bike was seized “under s.59 of the police reform act for anti social driving.” The incident sparked a wave of bike-related jokes on Facebook, with social media users sharing puns. One user commented, “he’s been wheelie nawty,” to which the police replied, “that’s wheelie bad,” while another added, “Must have been tyred…..”

Regarding the second incident, the police said, “Luck is clearly on our side today.” They explained, “While we were driving away from the other seized motorcycle a male was witnessed riding an off ride bike on the pavement in Shotton. Seized under s.165 for destruction.”

Members of the public praised the police efforts, with one saying, “Well done, keep it up, they are a menace in the area and the riders don’t care.” Another supporter added, “Keep up the fantastic work you do.”
