A murder inquiry has been initiated following the discovery of a woman’s body inside a residence on Bryn Terrace in Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend.
South Wales Police responded to welfare concerns for two individuals at the property shortly after 9:15 p.m.
on Friday, April 18.
Upon arrival, officers found a 48-year-old woman who was declared deceased at the scene.
A 56-year-old man from Pyle was also present inside the home and was detained immediately.
He has since been arrested on suspicion of murder, with police confirming they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Lianne Rees, leading the investigation, stated, “We are continuing to carry out inquiries into the death, which is being treated as suspicious, however at this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.”
The investigation remains active as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman who has died,” added Detective Chief Inspector Rees.
This case highlights ongoing concerns about domestic incidents in the region, where police have recently increased efforts to address violent crimes and support vulnerable individuals.
