Slash, the legendary guitarist, will headline a one‑off concert at Cardiff Castle on Wednesday 30 June 2027, as part of the DEPOT Live summer series.
The show, billed as Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, arrives as the band launches its Flying Blind World Tour, which will sweep through Latin America, North America and then the UK and Europe later in the year.
DEPOT Live founder Nick Saunders said: “Slash and Myles Kennedy are both undisputed icons of rock so we are delighted to be welcoming them for what is set to be a truly memorable night at Cardiff Castle.”
He added: “Our audiences love rock music so I expect this to be a very popular show attracting people from far and wide.”
The line‑up will see the five‑piece band – Slash, vocalist Myles Kennedy, bassist Todd Kerns, drummer Brent Fitz and rhythm guitarist Frank Sidoris – take the historic stage inside the medieval walls that overlook the River Taff.
Cardiff Castle has become a coveted venue for high‑profile acts, and the addition of a hard‑rock heavyweight promises to broaden the festival’s appeal beyond its usual pop and acoustic fare.
Slash’s new album Flying Blind, a twelve‑track record produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette, is slated for release on 26 February through Gibson Records.
Speaking about the record, Slash explained: “It’s a really fun, kind of spontaneous rock ’n’ roll record.”
He continued: “It’s very straightforward and down‑to‑earth and raw.”
The album marks the latest chapter in the guitarist’s long‑standing partnership with Kennedy, which began on Slash’s self‑titled solo debut in 2010 and later evolved into The Conspirators.
Fans can expect a setlist that blends classic Slash solo material, Guns N’ Roses staples and fresh tracks from Flying Blind, delivering a night that spans three decades of rock history.
DEPOT Live, in partnership with Cuffe and Taylor, has already confirmed a string of other headline acts for the 2027 series at the castle, including Ronan Keating, Jack Savoretti and James Morrison.
Organisers anticipate that the rock concert will draw audiences from across Wales, the rest of the UK and even continental Europe, given the rarity of such a large‑scale electric‑guitar show in a heritage venue.
Local hoteliers and restaurateurs are preparing for a surge in bookings, with many expecting the event to boost tourism in the capital during the summer holiday period.
Transport authorities have warned of increased traffic on the A4161 and surrounding routes, urging concert‑goers to use public transport where possible.
Security arrangements will be overseen by South Wales Police, who have highlighted the need for robust crowd‑control measures given the expected high demand for tickets.
Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, reflecting the band’s global popularity and the unique allure of a rock performance set against the backdrop of a medieval fortress.
The concert will also serve as a showcase for the DEPOT Live brand, which aims to bring a diverse range of musical genres to historic Welsh venues, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a vibrant live‑music destination.
With the date now confirmed, fans are counting down the days until Slash and The Conspirators bring their signature sound to one of Wales’s most iconic landmarks.
